Where can I participate in a TS Training Event or Camp?
True Strength Women’s Jiu-Jitsu Collective is currently based in Connecticut, but plans on serving women BJJ practitioners all over New England. We are not affiliated with any one Brazilian jiu-jitsu school or team and plan on rotating our event locations.
-
Do I need a membership to participate?
No! True Strength is a pay-per-event organization. We do suggest signing up for email updates as we are trying to minimize our reliance on social media platforms.
-
How does TS use my event fee?
Event fees are not only used to cover any basic costs of holding the event, such as mat space rental and supplies, but also to fairly compensate any participating black belt instructors and mentors. Fees for events also cover overhead costs (such as the maintenance of the website you are on right now) so we can ensure the organization can continue to serve the community.

What can I expect during a Training Event?
True Strength Training Events consist of a short group warm-up, a technique series taught by a black belt, woman instructor, and plenty of open rolling time.
All experience levels are welcome and open rolling participation/intensity is at each woman’s discretion. We are organizing this event with everyone’s safety, comfort, and training goals in mind, so don’t be shy! These events are a great way to meet new friends and training partners, pick up some nice technique, get some productive live rolling experience, and have some fun!
Additional information will be provided for participants (ex: travel and parking information) ahead of the event.

Are there participant requirements?
Yes!
Women and girls only. All ranks, affiliation, and experience levels are welcome. A clean gi is required. We have no rules regarding gi colors, patches, etc. No wrestling shoes are permitted on the mat. Please be prepared to remove all jewelry and have nails clipped, etc. We suggest minimal to no makeup.
